How to discuss anti-racist and decolonial issues in everyday public spaces?
Temporary monuments will stand at Kottbusser Tor in Berlin from 15 April to 05 May 2022. They deal with the question of what and how we should commemorate today. In the context of the event "Trauma - Rechte Räume / deutsche Geschichte (n)" (right-wing future / German history(s)), anti-racist and decolonial issues are presented on advertising columns, curated by Benedikt Stoll, in order to question the sovereignty of interpretation in public space. TALKING OBJECTS LAB will perform on the advertising pillars from 26 April to 5 May, alongside the Initiative Schwarze Menschen in Deutschland and the Black Berlin Biennale.
We invite you to participate in the interactive monument and take part in our questionnaire.
A talk on April 30 at Vierte Welt invites all project participants and the audience to engage with memory culture in public space.
